My name is Tadhg Mulligan. I am 28 years of age , born and raised in Dundalk, County Louth Ireland. I play Fiddle, Uilleann Pipes and Bouzouki. A strong source of my music originates from County Leitrim and North Connaught where there is a rich musical heritage of playing Irish music in my family which dates back for at least five generations. I am a regular in my uncle Tom Mulligan’s Cobblestone pub which is home to fabulous Irish music in Dublin. I originally started playing the tin-whistle at the age of seven during the annual Joe Mooney Summer School in Drumshanbo Co. Leitrim. I then progressed onto the fiddle at the age of ten under the tuition of local Dundalk fiddle player Austin Dawe. My main influences on the fiddle come from James Morrison, Michael Coleman, Paddy Killoran, Jean Cargignan, Tommie Potts, Sean Keane, Julia Clifford, Siobhán Peoples, Aoife Ní Bhriain ,Caoimhín Ó Raghallaigh, Frankie Gavin, Bryan Rooney, Donal McCague, Liam O’Connor, John Carty, Stéphane Grappelli,Joe Venuti, Stuff Smith, Tim Kliphuis, Yehudi Menuhin, Michael Cleveland. I then decided to teach myself the uilleann pipes after a trip to Manchester in 2010 to see the famous travelling uilleann pipers the Doran’s, the Rooney’s and the Dunne’s. I am a fond admirer of the playing of Felix and Johnny Doran, Felix Doran, Leo Rowsome, Seamus Ennis , Willie Clancy Ronan Sweeney, Padraig McGovern, Mick O’Brien, Liam O’Flynn, Paddy Kennan, Blackie O'Connell and Mark Redmond. I am also self–taught on the bouzouki. My style of bouzouki playing has developed through a mixture of influences from Donal Lunny, Alec Finn, Michael McCague, Cyril O Donoghue, Seanie McGrath
